Knicks News: Amar'e Stoudemire, 'Joking Around Has To Stop'

The New York Knicks dropped their sixth straight contest Monday, as they lost at the Chicago Bulls 104-99 in an Eastern Conference showdown. The loss knocked New York out of the playoff picture and has fans searching for answers.

Well, after the game Monday, star forward Amar'e Stoudemire gave his opinion on what the Knicks should do to start turning things around.

"We got to be in early, got to get ourselves mentally prepared, in the weight room, getting our bodies ready, watching film,’’ Stoudemire said. "Joking around has to stop at some point, especially at a time when we’re the eighth seed and not playing well. The time is now. There’s no time for fun and games.’’

Those are strong words coming from Stoudemire, who's basically calling out teammates for not caring about losing. Now, one has to think that if this is the case, and players aren't taking things seriously enough, then head coach Mike D'Antoni's job is on the line. [See: The Mike D'Antoni Watch]

Once a head coach loses his players' focus and attention, then a move needs to be made. It seems that Stoudemire is trying to get the attention for his teammates.
