Amar'e Stoudemire's Brother Killed In Car Accident, According To Report

New York Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire is now dealing with much more than just a slow start by his team. The 30-year-old power forward is on his way to Florida to be with his family according to reports.

Stoudemire's brother, Hazell, was killed when He was driving in his Cadillac Escalade in Lake Wales, FL on U.S. 27 when he collided with the rear end of a tractor trailer at 1:45 a.m. ET according to ESPN. Stoudemire was traveling at a high rate of speed and was declared dead at the scene. The 35-year-old wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

It's not sure at this time if alcohol was a factor in Hazell Stoudemire's death.

Of course, Amar'e Stoudemire will not be with the Knicks on Monday when they play in Utah against the Jazz. It's not known at this time when he will return to the team.
