Nets Look To Halt Losing Streak In The Windy City

The New Jersey Nets will kick off their second back-to-back-to-back of the season Saturday afternoon when they take on the Chicago Bulls in the Windy City. Avery Johnson's crew is more worried about finally picking up a win than getting worn down by playing three games in three days.

The Nets have dropped nine in a row, including a 93-88 loss to the Indiana Pacers Thursday night. Deron Williams led New Jersey once again with 29 points, six rebounds and four assists, but also had six turnovers. Kris Humphries put in a solid effort with 24 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks.

After missing all season with a broken bone in his foot, center Brook Lopez finally could return to the lineup for New Jersey. He was listed as "questionable" by the Nets on Friday, giving him a 50-50 chance of seeing his first action of the year. Lopez would give Johnson a much-needed scoring option in the post.

The Bulls have had their own injury problems, but haven't missed a beat. Derrick Rose has been out the last four games with Chicago taking three of those, the latest a big 89-80 victory over the Boston Celtics Thursday night.

Rose took part in practice on Friday, but his status for Saturday's showdown with the Nets is still up in the air.

You can see the game locally on YES or listen on WFAN 660 with tip scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Nets return home for the second of their three games in three days against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday night.
