Bucks 110, Nets 95: Playoff Hopes Dim As Bucks Continue Dominance Over Nets

(Sports Network) - Carlos Delfino scored 26 points, John Salmons had 25 and the Milwaukee Bucks surged in the second half to beat New Jersey, 110-95, for their eighth straight victory over the Nets.

Brandon Jennings added 16 points and a game-high 10 assists and Luc Mbah a Moute scored 15 for the Bucks, who bounced back nicely from an overtime loss to Orlando on Wednesday to snap a three-game losing streak.

Milwaukee has won every game against New Jersey since the Nets took two in a row near the end of the 2008-09 season.

Brook Lopez had 25 points to lead the Nets, who have dropped two in a row on the heels of a five-game winning streak.

Deron Williams chipped in 18 points and nine assists, but had five of New Jersey's 11 turnovers, and Kris Humphries scored 10 with a game-high 11 rebounds.

Down two at halftime, the Bucks used a 14-3 run spanning the third and fourth quarters to take control. Jennings knocked down a jumper to give them an 80-73 lead heading into the final frame, and Mbah a Moute later finished the surge with back-to-back layups for an 88-76 lead with 8:36 remaining in the game.

The Nets scored just three points in 6:36 of game time between Humphries hitting a jumper to get them within 74-73 in the third quarter and when Lopez followed Mbah a Moute's back-to-back layups with one of his own.

New Jersey later got within four, 95-91, on Lopez's jumper with 4:32 left to play. But the Bucks closed the game on a 15-4 run. Delfino's three-pointer inside a minute left was the dagger, giving Milwaukee a 13-point lead.

Milwaukee shot the lights out on the first quarter, hitting on better than 59 percent from the field for a 29-26 lead at the buzzer. Travis Outlaw scored all seven of his points for the Nets in the second quarter, leading them to a 54-52 lead at halftime.

Milwaukee's recent dominance over New Jersey includes three wins this season...The Bucks improved to 1-1 on a four-game homestand that also includes visits from the Knicks and Kings.
