Nets 102, Clippers 98: Nets Down Blake Griffin, Clippers; Win Fourth Straight

For the first time in over two years, the New Jersey Nets have won four games in a row, the latest an impressive 102-98 comeback victory in overtime over the Los Angeles Clippers.  The win put an end to the visitors own four-game winning streak.  The Nets swept the season series after winning the first meeting between the two teams back in Los Angeles back in Los Angeles.

After trailing by 20 with 5:41 left in the second quarter, a furious comeback -- fueled by a 31-16 third quarter -- helped New Jersey force overtime.

The Nets finally put the game away in overtime when, holding a two point 98-96 lead, Anthony Morrow found Jordan Farmar for a wide open three pointer.

Jordan Farmar and Brook Lopez each scored 24 points to pace the Nets, while Kris Humphries delivered the muscle with 19 points and career-high 19 rebounds.  Just as he did during the first meeting, Humphries played tough defense against Clippers star Blake Griffin.

Griffin and Chris Kaman led the way for Los Angeles along with 23 points, while Kaman also had a team-high 10 rebounds.  While it was a better performance than the 11 point, three rebound effort from November, Griffin still had to fight the whole way.

Humphries detailed the Nets simple plan against the electric Griffin.

"Just play him physical," the power forward said.

The Nets have now won three straight against the Clippers overall and 17 of 20 in New Jersey.

After winning both games Deron Williams missed to be with his wife for the birth of their fourth child, New Jersey will welcome the All-Star back for practice on Sunday and a showdown with the Boston Celtics Monday night at the Prudential Center.
