Warriors 109, Nets 100: Sixth Straight Loss Caps Empty Road Trip

Another day of various Carmelo Anthony rumors and another loss for the New Jersey Nets.  Their sixth straight loss, this time a 109-100 setback at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, wrapped up a winless four game West Coast road trip and showed what life will be like without any major roster changes.

The Nets continued to be led by Brook Lopez.  After two straight games over 30 points, Lopez poured in 20 on 9-for-15 shooting.  Devin Harris bounced back from two down games to score 19, while Sasha Vujacic added 16 off the bench.

Beyond that there wasn't much help on offense, even against one of the league's worst defenses.

Monta Ellis paced the Warriors as he burned the Nets for easy baskets all game long.  The shifty guard was a step faster than Harris and finished 26 points, nine assists and five rebounds.  David Lee had a double double for Golden State with 24 points and 10 rebounds and Stephen Curry scored 13 in just 23 minutes of action.

New Jersey held a 4-2 lead in the game's opening minutes and then never held another game.  The Nets were within five points with 2:14 left, but Curry hit a three and after Jordan Farmar missed a quick three of his own, Curry sank two free throws.

Up next for New Jersey is a meeting with the Utah Jazz on Wednesday for "Russian Culture Night" at the Prudential Center.
