76ers 102, Nets 86: Lackluster Second Half Dooms New Jersey

For a while in the second quarter, it looked like the New Jersey Nets would easily pick up their sixth victory of the season. They were taking the ball to the basket aggressively and had built up a six-point lead with the help of a 16-1 run.

The Sixers answered with a 6-2 run to end the half and never looked back.

New Jersey, holding a two-point lead at halftime, only mustered 38 second half points on a way to an embarrassing 16 point loss in Philadelphia.  It was just the fourth victory on the season for the Sixers.

Lopez led the Nets with 27 points, but like his team he was invisible on offense in the second half. After going 9-of-10 from the free throw line in the first quarter the Nets center didn't get back to the line the rest of the game.  Lopez only managed eight points after halftime.

Philadelphia shot an outstanding 15-of-19 from the field in the fourth quarter and were paced by Jrue Holiday's 20 points, the point guard's second highest point total of the season.

The Nets bench was outscored 46-23, with Lou Williams adding 15 points in just 20 minutes including a four-point play late in the 4th quarter with the Sixers up 4 that sealed the deal for Philly.

New Jersey has now lost 7 of its last 11 meetings with Philadelphia including five straight.

Next up for the Nets are the Portland Trailblazers Sunday night in Newark.
