The New York Islanders look to snap back from two lopsided losses when they visit the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night. (Game Time: 7 p.m., TV Schedule: MSG Plus, MSG Plus 2)
The Islanders were outscored 11-4 in consecutive losses to the Boston Bruins and Ottawa Senators, which came on the heels of a three-game winning streak. Ottawa used three goals within a 10-minute span during the second period to throttle New York 5-1 on Sunday at Nassau Coliseum.
New Jersey clinched a playoff spot Saturday with a 5-0 demolition of the Carolina Hurricanes. Martin Brodeur had 22 saves for the 119th shutout of his career as the Devils guaranteed a return to the postseason after a one-year absence.
