The Philadelphia Flyers roared back against the New Jersey Devils in Game 1 of this second round 2012 NHL Playoffs series to take a 2-1 lead, but that didn't stop the Devils from tying the game at 2-2 before the end of the frame.

After Zach Parise had put the Devils up in the first period, 1-0, the Flyers waited until the second period to score their goals, netting two goals in a span of 37 seconds. Danny Briere and James van Riemsdyk scored at 8:07 and 8:44 of the frame.

Over five minutes later, Travis Zajac answered back for the Devils with a power play goal that barely made it into the net:

Bryzgalov was behind the net when this sequence began, but as he returned to the net he was unable to properly position himself to defend the net. As a result, Zajac poked the puck in between Bryzgalov's legs, bouncing off the goalie's pads, for the trickled-in goal. The Flyers attempt some subterfuge at the end, throwing the puck back out, but that wasn't going to fool anyone.

The shots were turned around this period, as the Devils managed to have three to the Flyers' eight.
