Devils 3, Jets 2: Adam Henrique Tallies Twice In Overtime Victory

New Jersey Devils rookie sensation Adam Henrique continued his stellar campaign Saturday night by notching two goals, one being the game-winner in overtime, to lift the Devils to a 3-2 home victory over the Winnipeg Jets.

The first of Henrique's goals came just a game after he had scored the first of his NHL career and pushed the Devils to an early two-goal lead midway through the first period.

Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur did not give up a goal during the first two periods and made a trio of tough saves to preserve New Jersey's lead. The 39-year-old veteran was beaten by Mark Flood early in the third period and again by Jim Slater with just less than three minutes to play, sending the game into overtime. It was then that New Jersey's 21-year-old rookie saved the day, corralling a pass from Zach Parise and putting in the game-winner 1:28 into the overtime period. Brodeur picked up the win as a result, his first win of the season and his first since April 6 of last season.
