<p>The New York Yankees try to pull even in the ALCS with the Detroit Tigers in Game 2 Sunday at 4 p.m., but they'll have to do it without injured star Derek Jeter.</p> <p>The <a href="https://www.pinstripealley.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">New York Yankees</a> and <a href="https://www.blessyouboys.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">Detroit Tigers</a> play Game 2 of the American League Championship Series at 4:07 p.m. Sunday in New York. The game will be televised on TBS.</p>
<p>The Yankees will be without shortstop <span>Derek Jeter</span> for the rest of the playoffs. Jeter broke his ankle late in Detroit's 6-4, 12-inning win in Game 1 of the series. <span>Jayson Nix</span> came into the game at shortstop in Jeter's absence. Nix hit .243 with four home runs in a utility role this season.</p>
<p><span>Hiroki Kuroda</span> (16-11, 3.32 ERA) starts for the Yankees, trying to help New York avoid falling behind two games to none in the series. Kuroda faced the Tigers twice this season. He had a 3.38 ERA against them and had no-decisions in each start. The Yankees were 1-1 in those games.</p>
<p>Kuroda picked up a win in his lone start in the Division Series against Baltimore, giving up two runs in 8⅓ innings and striking out three. Kuroda is pitching on just three days rest.</p>
<p><span>Anibal Sanchez</span> (9-13, 3.86 ERA) starts for the Tigers. Sanchez pitched against the Yankees once this season, giving up seven runs in three innings in a loss Aug. 8. Sanchez took a loss for the Tigers in his lone playoff start this season, giving up two runs over 6 ⅓ innings against Oakland.</p>
