Eagles Vs. Cardinals Injury Report And Inactive List: DeSean Jackson Out For Disciplinary Reasons, Kevin Kolb Out With Toe Injury

Philadelphia Eagles DeSean Jackson highlights the team's inactives list for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals after he missed a team meeting Saturday.

Safety Nate Allen (concussion) and guard Evan Mathis (toe) were both listed as out on Friday's injury report and are also on the inactives list. Also on the inactives list are offensive lineman Winston Justice, quarterback Mike Kafka, cornerback Curtis Marsh and defensive end Philip Hunt.

The Arizona Cardinals will play without starting quarterback and former Eagle Kevin Kolb. Kolb had been batting a toe injury and was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report. Instead, the Cardinals will send John Skelton under center for Sunday's contest.

Safety Kerry Rhodes (foot) and linebacker Joey Porter (knee) were both listed as out on Friday's injury report and are also on the inactives list. Tight ends Rob Housler (groin) and Todd Heap (hamstring) will also miss the game per today's inactives list. Wide receiver Stephen Williams offensive tackle D'Anthony Batiste round out the inactives list for the Cardinals.

Bowl Projections 2011: Rutgers Remains On Course For Pinstripe Bowl

SB Nation's Bill Connelly has released his latest bowl projections, and for the New York local teams, not much has changed. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights beat Army at Yankee Stadium on Saturday and are again penciled in for a return visit at the New Era Pinstripe Bowl, where Connelly predicts they will take on Texas Tech.

Syracuse fell to South Florida on Friday, and Connelly doesn't think the Orange will get the win they need to become eligible in its final two games of the season against Cincinnati or Pittsburgh.

Connelly projects Cincinnati to ultimately claim the Big East crown and meet Clemson in the Discover Orange Bowl. He also sees Louisville, South Florida and Pittsburgh making it to the postseason. Louisville is forecasted to play N.C. State in the BBVA Compass Bowl, South Florida to go to the Independence Bowl to take on Wyoming and Pittsburgh to meet East Carolina in the Beef O'Brady's Bowl.

2011 Bowl Projections: Rutgers Remains On Course For New Era Pinstripe Bowl

According to the latest bowl projections, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights are on track to meet Texas Tech in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights shored up their fifth trip to the postseason in six years by beating South Florida on Saturday, 20-17. The only question that remains now is where Rutgers will be headed this bowl season.

According to the bowl projections Scout.com posted earlier today, the Scarlet Knights (6-3, 3-2 BIG EAST) can expect to stay close to home with a trip to the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. There, they are expected to meet Big 12 representative Missouri.

Unfortunately for Syracuse and Connecticut, Rutgers is the only NYC-metro team listed in the bowl projections, despite UConn (4-5, 2-2 BIG EAST) picking up its fourth victory of the season Saturday over the Orange (5-4, 1-3 BIG EAST).

On the national level, LSU staked its claim to a projected spot in the BCS National Championship game with its 9-6 overtime victory over Alabama. Scout.com likes the Tigers to meet Oklahoma in the title game after the Sooners thrashed Texas A&M over the weekend.

The rest of the BCS games are projected as follows:

2011 Bowl Projections: UConn and Boston College Absent From Latest Predictions

SB Nation's Bill Connelly released his latest bowl projections and unfortunately, neither of the local teams are involved. Though Boston College was able to knock off N.C. State at home in the O'Brien Bowl, wins in their final two games would leave them at five wins, one shy of bowl eligibility. Meanwhile, UConn had a bye week, but can become bowl eligible by winning two of its final three games.

Though Boston College won't make the postseason the vanquished Wolfpack is predicted to play Louisville in the BBVA Compass Bowl. This is something of a bold prediction as two of N.C. State's five wins have come against Football Championship Subdivision opposition, meaning the Wolfpack would have to beat both Clemson and Maryland in its final two games to be bowl eligible. Connelly picked the Clemson Tigers, who clinched the ACC Atlantic Division title Saturday with a win over Wake Forest, to prevail in the ACC title game and take on Cincinnati in the Discover Orange Bowl. Likely Coastal Division champs Virginia Tech are predicted to meet Florida in the Chick-fil-A Bowl. Connelly has Florida State headed to the Champs Sports Bowl to play Notre Dame, Wake Forest to the Military Bowl for a date with Navy, North Carolina facing West Virginia in the Belk Bowl and Virginia taking on Arizona State in the Sun Bowl.

Aside from the aforementioned Cincinnati, Wake Forest and Louisville, the Big East is also expected to send Rutgers, South Florida and Pittsburgh to the postseason. Rutgers is projected to play Texas Tech in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium, Pittsburgh to the Beef O'Brady Bowl to take on ECU and South Florida to the Independence Bowl to play Wyoming.

Eagles Wideout DeSean Jackson Will Not Play Sunday For Disciplinary Reasons

Already in something of a tailspin, the Philadelphia Eagles will have to turn things around today against the Arizona Cardinals without the services of wide receiver DeSean Jackson. According a report from the Philadelphia Daily News, Jackson missed a team meeting Saturday and has been told he will not be in uniform for today's game.

Jackson has been dissatisfied with his current $600,000 contract since last season and held out of the first week of training camp this season. He was unable to get a new deal and ultimately returned to work. This season, he has been having something of a down year in his role as a punt returner after making a name for himself as one of the most feared return men in the league. As a receiver, he has played through a tough three-game stretch, picking up a season-low 16 receiving yards on two catches last week against the Chicago Bears.

The Eagles are expected to replace him in the wideout rotation with Steve Smith, who dressed the past two weeks but did not play.

2011 Bowl Predictions: Penn State On Course For Familiar Destination, Temple Cinches Bowl Eligibility

With the turmoil that enveloped State College this past week, perhaps SB Nation's Bill Connelly's latest bowl projections will offer the comfort of stability to some Penn State fan. After Saturday's loss to Nebraska, the Nittany Lions are on pace for a record fifth appearance in the Outback Bowl. There, Connelly predicts they will meet Steve Spurrier's South Carolina Gamecocks.

Temple picked up an important win against Miami (Ohio) this past week to officially seal its bowl eligibility and remain a half-game behind MAC East leaders Ohio. As a result, Connelly predicts the Owls will be the MAC's third bowl selection, earning them a trip to Boise, Idaho, for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl (nee Humanitarian Bowl) against Florida International Golden Panthers.

New York Islanders At Vancouver Canucks: Isles Visit Stanley Cup Finalists In Search Of First Road Win

The New York Islanders will look to reverse their downward spiral and pick up their first road win Sunday night when they head to Vancouver to take on a Canucks team starting to show signs of life after a disappointing beginning to the season.

The Islanders have lost eight of their past nine games, with Thursday's defeat at Colorado being particularly excruciating. New York hopped out to a 3-0 lead midway through the second period, but the team's defense allowed 51 shots as the Avalanche came back to send the game into overtime, where Islanders goalie Al Montoya's high-sticking penalty led to the game-winning, power-play goal.

The Canucks have had something of an up-and-down campaign after their trip to the Stanley Cup finals this past spring, having yet to win or lose more than two games in a row. Vancouver won the first two games of their three-game road trip before falling to Anaheim, 4-3, Friday night, despite a furious third-period comeback.

The Islanders are expected to have Evgeni Nabokov between the pipes tonight, with the goaltender facing the tough task of putting the clamps on the dangerous Sedin brothers, who combined for 12 points over the Canucks' aforementioned three-game road trip. The Isles will also hope for another strong performance from sensational sophomore Michael Grabner. The Gremlin has scored in each of New York's past two games.
