Sports on TV, 10/9: MLB postseason schedule features pair of Game 3s

A pair of division series showcase Game 3s in which teams -- Reds, Tigers -- can move onto the league championship.

A night after having New York-based teams dominate the prime time spotlight very little is happening around the empire. The only sporting events fans will be watching Tuesday will be postseason baseball and professional hockey in Europe.

Major League Baseball

San Francisco Giants at Cincinnati Reds - 5:30 p.m. (TV:TBS): Game 3 of the National League Division Series. The Reds own a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series that heads to Cincinnati and Great American Ball Park. Starting for the Reds, who will be looking for a sweep, will be Homer Bailey while Ryan Vogelsong tosses for the Giants.

Detroit Tigers at Oakland Athletics - 9 p.m. ET (TV: TBS): Game 3 of the American League Division Series. The Tigers lead the best-of-five series, 2-0. Detroit will be looking for a series sweep as it starts right-handed pitcher Anibal Sanchez, who will oppose the A's Brett Anderson.

Kontinental Hockey League

Lev Praha. vs. Dynamo Moscow - 1 p.m. (TV: ESPN2): Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin will be showcased as he plays for his Russian-based team as it faces Prague's Lev.
