Even if the Giants played there way out of a title defense, plenty of New York-area fans will tune in next Sunday for the 47th edition of the Super Bowl.
Unlike last year, there's a little less drama surrounding the Super Bowl for New York area football fans. But even with the Giants and Jets at home, fans in the area will still tune in for the year's biggest television event.
The 49ers and Ravens will meet to decide Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday, Feb. 3 in New Orleans. The Niners and Ravens both went on the road and won their respective conference championships last weekend to advance to the Super Bowl. In six combined Super Bowl appearances, both teams are undefeated. San Francisco obviously has much more Super Bowl history, a perfect 5-0 in the game -- the only team with more than one appearance to have never lost. The Ravens won their first and only title in 2000. With the matchup now set, here are some of the basics for next Sunday:
- Date: Sunday, February 3, 2013
- Kickoff time: 6:30 EST
- Location: Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana
- Channel: CBS
- Announcers: Jim Nantz and Phil Simms
- Halftime show performance: Destiny's Child and Beyonce
- National anthem: Alicia Keys
- Tickets: TiqIQ.com
