The Red Storm are looking to open their Big East schedule with a win over Villanova on Wednesday.
St. John's and guard D'Angelo Harrison will travel to play Villanova in the Big East opener Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
The Red Storm have started 8-4 this season. After starting the year 6-2, St. John's has lost two of its last four games.
Villanova is 9-4 this year. Unlike the Red Storm, the Wildcats started slow and picked it up recently. Villanova started the year 4-4, but have now won their last five games.
Harrison has led the Red Storm this year with 20.9 points per game. He's shooting 44 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free throw line. Forward JaKarr Sampson is the team's second leading scorer, averaging 14.7 points per game.
Forward JayVaughn Pinkston is leading Villanova this season with 12.2 points per game. Despite only starting five games, Pinkston is shooting 46 percent from the field and grabbing 4.9 rebounds per game. Guard Ryan Arcidiacono is second in scoring, averaging 11.5 points per game in 13 starts.
