The first quarter of the season-opening contest between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys has ended in a scoreless tie. The Giants, however, will begin the second quarter with possession at the Cowboys' 45-yard line facing a 3rd-and-2 situation.

New York's current drive was setup by a turnover-on-downs by the Dallas offense, which was stopped short of a first down on a fourth-and-1 from the Giants' 37-yard line.

The Giants first drive of the season lasted just three plays, as New York failed to convert on a 3rd-and-5 -- Victor Cruz dropped a pass from quarterback Eli Manning, who threw a catchable ball that would have picked up the first down.

The Giants second drive marched down to the Cowboys' 29-yard line, but ended abruptly after running back David Wilson was stripped by Cowboys' linebacker Sean Lee. The ball was picked up by safety Barry Church who was tackled at the Dallas' 30-yard line.

Giants' defense end Rocky Bernard recorded the team's first sack, which came during the Cowboys' first offensive possession.
