The New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys will open up the 2012-13 NFL regular season Wednesday, as the two NFC East Division rivals meet at MetLife Stadium (8:30 p.m. ET on NBC). The Giants will enter as the betting favorite as they are given 4 1/2-points to the Cowboys.
The line is not a surprise considering the Cowboys could be without tight end Jason Witten, who's suffering from a lacerated spleen. If Witten can't play, Dallas quarterback Tony Romo will be without his No. 1 throwing option. Romo's second and third options -- wide receivers Dez Bryant and Miles Austin -- are also banged up as both were listed on the latest injury report as probable.
Meanwhile, the Giants are slowly getting healthy as wide receiver Hakeem Nicks is expected to play despite being listed as questionable.
