Domenik Hixon Will Be Giants' No. 3 Wide Receiver

One of the primary questions of the preseason for the New York Giants was who would replace Mario Manningham, departed for San Francisco as a free agent, as the No. 3 wide receiver. The answer, at least beginning the season, will be veteran Domenik Hixon.

Hixon played only two games the past two seasons, twice suffering torn ACLs. He will be the third wide receiver, though, beating out rookie Reuben Randle, second-year man Jerrel Jernigan and fourth-year man Ramses Barden for the job. Hixon won the job despite catching only two passes for 13 yards in the preseason.

Hixon's best season as a receiver was 2008, when he caught 43 passes for the Giants. He caught four passes in two games a season ago before going down to his second ACL injury.
