Despite being a part of Saturday's 42-41 loss to the Northwestern Wildcats, Syracuse Orange senior quarterback Ryan Nassib was named the Big East Conference's Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. The third-year starter set school records for attempts (66), completions (45), passing yards (482) and total yards (512) in the Orange's 1-point, non-conference loss to the Wildcats at the Carrier Dome.
Nassib's 66 attempts broke the Big East single-game list, which was held by former Louisville Cardinals quarterback Brian Brohm's mark of 65 set against SU in 2007. Nassib's 45 completions tied Brohm's league record in that category, which also came during the '07 contest.
The 482 passing yards helped Nassib surpass Pete Gonzalez (Pittsburgh Panthers) for eighth on the Big East single-game record list.
In the midst of his historic performance, Nassib also tied former Orangemen Marvin Graves for second all-time on SU's career touchdown passes list (48).
