Rutgers Football: Quarterback Gary Nova Earns Big East Offensive Player Of The Week

Stay connected for news and updates

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights beat the Arkansas Razorbacks, 35-26, last weekend in impressive fashion on the road. Quarterback Gary Nova played a phenomenal game, earning himself the Big East Offensive Player of the Week award.

Nova was simply sublime against Arkansas, throwing for 397 yards and five touchdowns in the contest while completing 25 of 35 attempts. Nova set personal bests in completions, yards and touchdowns in a single game while paving the way for the Scarlet Knights to bring their record to 4-0.

It's the first time that Rutgers is undefeated after its first four games since the days of Ray Rice and Mike Teel back in 2006.

The Scarlet Knights now have a bye before hosting their Big East rival, the Connecticut Huskies, on Oct. 6. Rutgers might be able to make some noise in the conference, only having to face one ranked team the rest of the way in No. 19 Louisville the final week of the season.
