Jets-Dolphins Final Score: New York Gets Ugly 23-20 Overtime Victory

To say that the New York Jets escaped with an ugly overtime victory in Miami would be a disservice to the words 'escape' and 'ugly.' But style points notwithstanding, Nick Folk's 33-yard field goal sends the Jets home at 2-1 after a 23-20 OT win versus the Dolphins.

Mark Sanchez completed just 21-of-45 passes, but threw for 306 yards and a touchdown, and wideout Santonio Holmes topped 100 yards (nine catches, 147 yards) for the first time in 28 games in the win. Dolphins rookie signal caller Ryan Tannehill completed 16-of-36 passes for 196 yards and an interception that safety LaRon Landry returned for a touchdown. Daniel Thomas ran for 69 yards in place of Reggie Bus, who rushed for 61 yards but left the game with a left knee injury.

The injury news for the Jets was seemingly worse. Cornerback Darrelle Revis, who missed last week's game with a concussion, left the game with a non-contact injury to his left knee. Wide receiver Stephen Hill pulled his hamstring and was replaced by Chaz Schilens. It is expected that he will have an MRI tomorrow with the Jets hoping for the best.

The Jets squandered many opportunities in the game and were lucky to be victorious. Sanchez threw an interception in the end zone in the third quarter and they settled for a field goal after having first-and-goal at the Miami 1. Miami kicker Dan Carpenter missed a 48-yard field goal in overtime that would have won the game for the Dolphins before the Jets' final possession.

The Tim Tebow Experience saw him run for a first down on a fake punt and also get hit in the helmet by a Sanchez third down pass. He finished with zero yards on two carries.

The Jets play host to the San Francisco 49ers, who were upset in Minnesota by the Vikings, on Sunday, while the 1-2 Dolphins are at Arizona.
