NCAA Football Rankings: Rutgers Cracks AP Top 25 For Sixth Time In School History

The latest Associated Press Top 25 poll is out, and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights find themselves in it for the first time since Nov. 15, 2009. Rutgers has managed a 4-0 start with three wins on the road for the first time since 1980, as noted by Scarlet Scuttlebutt. They broke in at No. 23 following their 35-26 victory over Arkansas on Saturday.

This marks just the sixth year in Rutgers history that they've been ranked. They enter the Top 25 ahead of Boise State and Baylor, the former of which maintains their place at No. 24 and the latter of which is also a newcomer at No. 25. It's a great start for Rutgers, which joins No. 19 Louisville to represent the Big East.

As far as the rest of the poll is concerned, there's a new No. 2 as Oregon takes over No. 3 LSU's spot. Still, LSU managed a single first-place vote, with No. 1 Alabama snagging the other 59. The top five is rounded out by Florida State and Georgia. You can find the full Top 25 here.
