The New York Red Bulls and New England Revolution each scored a goal during stoppage time in playing to a tightly contested 1-1 draw on Saturday night.

After a scoreless regulation, the Red Bulls struck first in the 91st minute on a scrappy header from Joel Lindpere at point-blank range. Fellow midfielder Tim Cahill assisted on the goal. But Revolution defender Darrius Barnes responded four minutes later with a header of his own from the center of the box off a cross from midfielder Ryan Guy, denying New York three points as several Red Bulls froze in disbelief.

The Red Bulls were playing without star striker Thierry Henry, who was suspended for one game after headbutting Sporting Kansas City forward Kei Kamara during the 93rd minute of a Sept. 19 match. With the loss, New York remained in third-place in the Eastern Conference, three points behind the second-place Chicago Fire and five points behind Sporting KC.
