Thierry Henry Suspension: Red Bulls' Star Benched One Game By MLS

Stay connected for news and updates

The MLS has suspended New York Red Bulls star Thierry Henry for Saturday's game with the New England Revolution. The suspension is for violent conduct which endangered the safety of Sporting Kansas City forward Kei Kamara in the 93rd minute of the Sept. 19 match.

Watch the video after the jump and Henry doesn't have much of an argument if he was to fight the suspension. Pretty clear that he took a cheap shot at Kamara from behind and then tried to cover his transgression with a flop.

Henry is a great player, but with a reputation for taking unnecessary shots at opposing players. In this case, he got caught. Now the Red Bulls have to suffer the consequences as they play a critical game against the Revolution without their best player.

Henry was also fined an undisclosed amount.

There has been no statement from the Red Bulls on the suspension as of yet.
