Red Bulls Vs. Sporting KC Final Score: New York's Home Winning Streak Snapped

Sporting Kansas City snapped the New York Red Bulls' six-game home winning streak Wednesday with a convincing 2-0 victory.

Up against a stout defense, the Red Bulls were unable to apply any real pressure to Sporting KC, who got goals from C.J. Sapong in the 12th minute and Kei Kamara in the 19th minute. Playing with a lead, Sporting KC held firm on the back line to earn the victory, maintaining their spot atop the MLS Eastern Conference standings.

Despite possessing the ball for 61 percent of the game, the Red Bulls were mostly mulling around the midfield, getting only three corner kicks and three shots on goal.

With the loss, the Red Bulls remain in third place, unable to pick up any ground on the second-place Chicago Fire. They are now five points behind Sporting KC for the top spot.
