Syracuse Vs. Stony Brook Score: Seawolves Lead Orange, 10-7, After 1st Quarter

Stay connected for news and updates

A 63-yard touchdown reception from Kevin Norrell from quarterback Kyle Essington and a 20-yard field goal by Wesley Skiffington has helped the Stony Brook Seawolves take a 10-7 lead over the Syracuse Orange. The Seawolves (2-0), a Football Championship Subdivision program, have out gained the Orange (0-2) 144-115 in total offense. Syracuse will begin the second quarter near midfield.

The Orange's lone score came on a 63-yard touchdown reception by sophomore Prince-Tyson Gulley from senior quarterback Ryan Nassib. Gulley's longest score of his SU career came after he caught a swing pass, found a hole and outraced defenders to the end zone. His score tied the game at 7-7 with about 11 minutes to go.

Besides that one big play, however, Syracuse has been forced to punt twice and has yet to march inside Stony Brook territory.
