Team USA Women's Soccer Vs New Zealand: Abby Wambach Gives United States 1-0 Lead At Half

The United States Women's National Soccer team heads into halftime with a 1-0 lead in their quarterfinal match against New Zealand.

The United States has been the dominant team on the pitch today, and finally got their deserved goal in the 27th minute.

Abby Wambach scored the goal for the United States, taking a beautiful Alex Morgan cross and tapping it into the far post to make it 1-0 for the United States. It is the fourth goal for Wambach in this year's Olympics, and it extended her Olympic scoring streak to five games dating back to the 2008 Olympic gold medal match.

The goal was also Wambach's 142nd career international goal for the United States, as the Rochester, NY, native is just 16 goals behind Mia Hamm's 158 career goals for the United States.
