Stay connected for news and updates

The New York Yankees are No. 4 in the most recent MLB Power Rankings from SI.com. The New York Mets are sitting at No. 19, and playing out the string for the season.

In rankings from YES Network, which uses a combination of experts’ rankings and fan balloting, the Yankees are No. 3. The Texas Rangers have the top spot in both polls. If you wish to participate in the YES rankings you can do so on the YES power rankings page

The Yankees currently lead the Baltimore Orioles by 3.5 games and the Tampa Bay Rays by 4 games in the American League East. The Yankees are clinging to the lead despite a rash of injuries -- with first baseman Mark Teixeira having joined the list of injured players on Monday night. Alex Rodriguez and Andy Pettitte remain sidelined and Mariano Rivera is lost for the season.
