Mike Francesa Goes On Epic Rant Against New York Mets

Mike Francesa of WFAN in New York went off on a rant for the ages Thursday, ripping Terry Collins and the New York Mets. The Mets had just lost 1-0 to the now 50-73 Colorado Rockies, completing a four-game series sweep. It was the Mets' 13th loss in their last 17 games. Francesa wastes no time laying into the team at the outset of the show. The anger builds until a boiling point around the 3:24 mark when his voice cracks talking about Mike Baxter being forced out at second base on a base hit.

"This is Major League baseball? You're actually paying to watch this? The eight people that were there today, give them their money back! You've got to be kidding me! If I were the manager I would jump off the roof, if that was my team!"

And then there are six minutes to go. You're going to want to check out the whole thing after the jump.

Francesa saved his most scathing words for last:

"And the one thing that we said about Terry Collins, and he said about himself is 'we are not accepting of an attitude that is losing, of mediocrity, of mistakes.' And now he has been beaten down to the point where he is completely accepting of their garbage. He was last night, he was today, and that means total death for his team. I don't need to ask Terry any more if this team has quit on him. I know it has."
