Team USA Basketball Vs. Nigeria: Preview, Game Time, TV Schedule

Stay connected for news and updates

Both of New York City's NBA teams are represented on Team USA at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London this year. The Knicks claim Carmello Anthony and Tyson Chandler on the roster, and Brooklyn Nets star Deron Williams represents the city's other team. Team USA is favored by 42 points in their Thursday game against Nigeria.

The talent gap between the two teams is notable, as it has been with most of Team USA's opponents over the years. Nigeria does have a pair of NBA players on the squad, Al-Farouq Aminu of the Houston Rockets and well-traveled journeyman Ike Diogu.

Chandler could see plenty of work against Diogu, but there is not much of a matchup for him. Carmelo Anthony, part of the deep Team USA bench, could see plenty of work again, after helping Team USA power through the Tunisians in their last game.

The game starts at 5;15 p.m. ET. The NBC Sports Network will carry the live broadcast, and streaming options are available from NBCOlympics.com.
