Las Vegas released the betting odds for the 2012 Heisman Trophy race Friday, and USC Trojans quarterback Matt Barkley is the preseason favorite to win college football's top honor with 3-to-1 odds. The 78th annual Heisman Trophy presentation will take place in December at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square.

Besides Barkley, the next best line was given to Wisconsin Badgers running back Montee Ball who is a 6-1 favorite. Michigan Wolverines' quarterback Denard Robinson enters the season with 7-1 odds, while West Virginia Mountaineers quarterback Geno Smith (8-1) and Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Landry Jones (9-1) rounded out the top five, respectively.

Long shots feature: South Carolina Gamecocks running back Marcus Lattimore (18-1), Oregon Ducks running back De'Anthony Thomas (20-1) and Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback Tyler Wilson (33-1).
