Yankees Vs. Rangers: New York Falls, 10-6

The New York Yankees lost to the Texas Rangers, 10-6, on Thursday at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees took three out of the four games in the series.

The Yankees had their eight-game winning streak against the Rangers at Yankee Stadium broken in the series finale when the Rangers' bats got hot. In the three previous games of the four-game set, the Rangers had only four total runs. On Thursday, Yankees pitching surrendered 16 hits and 10 runs to Texas batters. Yankees starter Ivan Nova left the game after pitching 5 2/3 innings, giving up seven hits, four earned runs and four walks.

The Yankees had a 5-4 lead through six innings before the bullpen gave up the other six runs over the final three innings. Boone Logan was charged with the blown save and the loss for giving up two earned runs on two hits in the seventh inning. Logan only got one batter out before he was lifted for Joba Chamberlain, who gave up two earned runs on four hits in 1 1/3 innings. Texas starter Derek Holland did not get a decision in 5 2/3 innings of work. He gave up five hits and four earned runs. Tanner Scheppers got the win for the Rangers for getting the final out of the sixth inning. He gave up two hits and an earned run.

Andruw Jones had two RBI to lead New York on a home run and Ichiro Suzuki was 3-for-3 at the plate. Adrian Beltre and Craig Gentry each had three RBI for Texas.

The Yankees (70-48) will begin their next series on Friday against the Boston Red Sox (57-61) at Yankee Stadium.
