Brandon Jacobs is gone, but this is New York Giants vs. New York Jets week, and the always opinion former Giants running back just could not resist taking some jabs at the Jets, calling them a "circus" during a recent interview with CBSSports.com.↵
"It's a circus, man. But every year it's like that," Jacobs said. "People make their expectations, and that's what people do with the Jets because of what's going on. People make expectations about them, and when it comes down not to be that way, coach Ryan has some bull [about what happened]."
The common sentiment since the Giants won the 2012 Super Bowl has been that the Jets win the headlines, but the Giants are the New York franchise that wins the big games.↵
"And it's always going to be like that. They were in the AFC Championship Game twice in a row, but the year after that the Giants win the Super Bowl. That discredits everything as far as the Battle of the City," Jacobs said. "They can't ever one-up the Giants -- not in my eyesight; not in anyone else's eyesight. They can never do that. They keep trying, but they're doing it the wrong way."↵
Jacobs was not always happy as a Giant, and sometimes did not like the way he was used by Giants coach Tom Coughlin. He did, however, have a message for the NFL's oldest head coach:↵
"I miss the old dude. I can tell you that, and definitely mean it. I miss the old dude," Jacobs said.↵
