Mets At Reds Preview: Game Time, TV Schedule, Probable Pitchers

The New York Mets are trying anything to avoid a sweep against the Cincinnati Reds. After losing 3-0 on Tuesday and 6-1 on Wednesday, the Mets hope to salvage one game of the three-game series on Thursday. If the Mets are going to do that, they are going to do it with Matt Harvey (1-3, 3.63 ERA) starting.

In Harvey's last start against the Atlanta Braves on Aug. 10, the 2010 first-round draft pick went six innings, allowing two runs on two hits. Harvey allowed a home run and issued five walks in that game. If Harvey is going to win his first start since his start against the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 26, he is going to have to keep control of his pitches and limit mistakes against the powerful Reds offense.

The Reds will counter with pitcher Homer Bailey (10-7, 4.08). In his last start against the Chicago Cubs on Aug. 10, Bailey went five and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on nine hits. He also struck out five to keep the Cubs' offense at bay.

The game is set for a 7:10 p.m. first pitch from the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati. Television coverage will be provided by SNY as well as MLB Network. Radio coverage will be provided by WFAN 660 AM.
