Yankees Vs. Blue Jays Final Score: New York Wins 4th Straight, 5-2, Saturday

The New York Yankees won a fourth straight game Saturday defeating the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-2, in Game 2 of the three-game series at the Rogers Centre. Ivan Nova (11-6, 4.70 ERA) snapped a five-start winless streak. He gave up just five hits and a walk for two earned runs, while striking out 10 batters.

The Yankees assumed control the game with a four-run fourth inning. Jayson Nix drove in Mark Teixeira with a single to left. On the next at-bat, Casey McGehee hit a three-run home run to give New York a 4-0 lead.

The Yankees score their last run off a Derek Jeter ground-rule double scoring McGehee in the sixth inning. Jays' starter Aaron Laffey (3-3, 4.72 ERA) walked Nick Swisher on the next at-bat, then left the mound after 5 2/3 innings. He gave up five earned runs off seven hits and four walks while striking out two.

Toronto scored off a Edwin Encarnacion singles in the fifth and eighth innings. Nova was relieved by David Robertson after Encarnacion's second single to finish out the inning. Neither Robertson nor Rafael Soriano, who earned his 28th save of the season, gave up another hit over the final two innings.

Game 3 of the series is set for Sunday at 1:07 p.m. ET. Phil Hughes (11-9, 4.10 ERA) will take on the Blue Jays' J.A. Happ (0-1, 6.35) on the mound.
