Team USA Basketball Vs. Argentina Halftime Score: U.S. Leads, 47-40

Team USA Basketball leads Argentina, 47-40, at halftime in the semifinals at the 2012 London Olympics.

New York area athletes had a small role in the first half. New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony had four points and three rebounds in ten minutes. Knicks center Tyson Chandler had two rebounds and zero points in six minutes. Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams got three points in six minutes.

The U.S. began the game on a 13-4 run. Argentina responded strongly and was able to get back into the game and the first quarter ended with the U.S. up, 24-19. Another run in the second quarter allowed the U.S. to build a 41-29 lead before another Argentina run cut the lead under double-digits. Manu Ginobili drilled a three-pointer at the buzzer to trim the U.S. lead at seven at the half.

Kobe Bryant led the U.S. with 13 points in the half. LeBron James also reached double figures in scoring with 11 points. Carlos Delfino led Argentina with 13 points in the half. Luis Scola also reached double figures with 10 points.
