Plaxico Burress, who played for the New York Jets last season, told WFAN Radio on Monday Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was hampered last season by a shoulder injury.
“He definitely has enough arm,” Burress told WFAN’s Chris Moore on Monday. “He was battling some injuries last year, shoulder-wise that a lot of people didn’t know about … different things like that. But I think he really turned a corner.”
Is this the truth or is this just Burress, who still does not have a job after spending 2011 with the Jets, making nice and trying to open a door back to Gang Green?
ESPN and WFAN referred in their reports to the fact Sanchez had a shoulder injury in 2010 that was believed to be a slight cartilage tear, but opted against surgery. His was never listed on the injury report with shoulder issues in 2011.
Per ESPN, Sanchez completed only five passes longer than 21 yards all season in 2011.
