Terrell Thomas Injury: Cornerback Re-Injures Surgically-Repaired Knee

Terrell Thomas of the New York Giants missed all of the 2011 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL. After slipping on the UAlbany turf during Sunday's practice Thomas was sent to the Hospital for Special Surgery on Monday when he reported swelling in that knee.

"He walked up to me after practice, he thought he felt good," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said after Monday's practice. "He just walked up to me and said, 'I slipped.' "

"I don't like the fact it's swollen, but I'm not a doctor."

Thomas, 27, had five interceptions and led the Giants with 101 tackles during the 2010 season. In three full seasons he has 11 career interceptions.

Notes

Third-round pick Jayron Hosley, also a cornerback, left practice early with what looked like a knee injury. Cough said, however, that Hosley had simply cut himself when he fell and the gash required stitches.
