2012 MLS All-Star Game: Late Goal Wins It, 3-2, For MLS

The finest soccer players from Major League Soccer got together on Wednesday night to face off against Chelsea FC, the defending European champs. In front of a rowdy crowd of fans at PPL Park in Philadelphia, unlikely hero Eddie Johnson got the game-winning goal at 91 minutes in the 2012 MLS All-Star Game.

The All-Stars got on the board first in the first half. Thierry Henry, the New York Red Bulls striker, set up a goal for Chris Wondolowski to give MLS a 1-0 lead. John Terry, whose gaffe in front of the net helped set up the first goal, struck back, evening the score at the half.

Chelsea got out to 2-1 lead in the second half, when David Beckham put the ball over the top and behind the Chelsea defenders for teammate Dwayne De Rosario. He set up his D.C. United teammate Chris Pontius for MLS' second goal.

Johnson, of the Seattle Sounders and a former Fullham bench player, got a deflection off the foot of David Luiz at the 91-minute mark for the game winner.
