The 2012-13 regular season schedule will officially be released Thursday, however, New York basketball fans got a bit of a sneak peak Wednesday from New York Newsday reporter Al Iannazzone about the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets season openers.

According to Iannazzone, the two NY based franchises will play each other on Nov. 1 in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center. The game time is not yet known, but it will be shown on TNT a source told Iannazzone.

The Knicks will hold their home opener the next night at The Garden against LeBron James and the NBA champion Miami Heat, according to a report.

On Thursday, the NBA will release its entire schedule during a NBA TV special starting at 7 p.m. ET.
