2012 British Open: Adam Scott Takes 4-Stroke Lead Into Final Round, Tiger Woods 5 Strokes Back

Australian Adam Scott shot a third round 2-under 68 to finish at 11-under to take a four stroke lead over Brandt Snedeker and Graeme McDowell at 7-under into the final round of the 2012 British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes.

Scott and Snedeker were in the final group together, and they could not have had a different start to their rounds. Snedeker finished with bogeys on four holes of the last five holes, and Scott took full advantage of. Scott knocked down back to back birdies at 7 and 8 to grab the lead and he never looked back. Only a bogey on the par-4 13th blemished an otherwise great day for the Aussie.

Tiger Woods sits in fourth place at 6-under after the third round, shooting an even par 70 to stay at 6-under for the tournament. Woods had to play catch up almost immediately, bogeying holes 1 and 3 before birdieing three of the last four holes on the front nine. Woods had an uneventful back nine, with only a bogey at 15 keeping Woods from finishing at under par on the day.
