2012 NBA Free Agency: Raymond Felton Could Be Target Of Knicks, According To Report

The biggest names of the 2012 NBA free agency period will get the most attention for the next few weeks, but because the New York Knicks are limited with spending money, there might not be a big splash in the Big Apple this summer.

However, there are a few other solid options in the free-agent market that could help the Knicks improve as a team, and one of those players could be former Knicks point guard Raymond Felton, says New York Post's Marc Berman.

Nash is the best candidate to lift Stoudemire out of last season’s funk, but Felton also is on their radar and is more attainable.

Felton made sweet music with Stoudemire on the pick-and-roll in Mike D’Antoni’s Knicks offense in the first half of the 2010-11 season.

Felton loved D’Antoni’s offense, and new coach Mike Woodson has tried to keep some of D’Antoni’s principles.

According to Berman, Felton had a down year with the Portland Trailblazers, the team he ended up with after being used as trade bait in the Carmelo Anthony/Denver Nuggets deal in '11. The lack of production has dropped the stock of Felton, who's probably now in the Knicks' price range.

Felton is not highest on the Knicks’ wish list, but possibly the most doable.
