In the literal sense, don't expect to see as much of Carmelo Anthony next season.
The New York Knicks star told reporters Tuesday that he has lost 12 pounds since the end of the season and is now down to 239 pounds.
Anthony has been working out in Los Angeles in an attempt to acquiesce to the wishes of coach Mike Woodson, who asked Anthony to trim down this offseason. Woodson visited Los Angeles recently to view one of Anthony's workouts, and was impressed.
"They were kind of shocked to see me down in weight," Anthony said, referring to Woodson and other team officials. "They came to my workout, saw it. They're actually excited how much hard work I've put in since the season ended."
