Wimbledon Men's Final 2012 Results: Roger Federer Downs Andy Murray To Earn 7th Wimbledon Crown

The people of England wanted to see an upset on Sunday, instead, they witnessed history at the All England Club. Roger Federer defeated Andy Murray 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 in the Wimbeldon Men's Final and earned his seventh crown on the grass surface, a mark that ties him with Pete Sampras for the most all-time.

The victory will also help Federer, 30, reclaim the No. 1 spot in the World Rankings, which come out on Monday.

Meanwhile, Murray failed to become the first British-born player to win the Wimbeldon title in decades. His performance, however, didn't go unnoticed as the hometown tennis fans gave him cheers during his runner-up speech. The support led to Murray breaking down into tears in an emotional movement.

In the end, Federer collects his all-time best 17 major championship and improves his already impressive resume.

Men's Wimbledon Final 2012 Update: Andy Murray, Roger Federer Match Tied, Delayed By Rain

The 2012 Wimbledon Final between Great Britain's Andy Murray and Sweden's Roger Federer is currently being delayed by rain and undergoing a roof-closing process, which will take about 30 minutes. The much anticipated match is tied at one set apiece, as Murray took the first set 6-4, while Federer earned a second set victory of 7-5. The third set is tied at one game apiece with Federer leading 40-0 love in the third game.

The match, which pits the six-time champion (Federer) against hometown hero (Murray), is expected to be delayed for about 30 minutes and will resume around noon ET. The roof at the All England Club had to be closed and then the court then needs to be become climatized, which is a process which helps limit the moisture inside the now enclosed stadium. The positive about the delay is that it will be the only one the Wimbledon Final will encounter and the match will be finished Sunday.

Wimbledon 2012: TV Schedule, Streaming Coverage And More

Sunday marks the 13th and final day of Wimbledon 2012, which will conclude with the men's championship match between No. 3 Roger Federer and No. 4 Andy Murray at 9 a.m. ET.

Federer will attempt to win his seventh Wimbledon title, while Murray is looking to represent his home country of England by winning his first ever major.

Murray will have homecourt advantage, but that also means extra pressure to perform in front of diehard tennis fans anxious for a championship trophy in Great Britain. Federer has been in a title game situation many times before, which could aid him against the less-experienced Murray. Murray does, however, have youth on his side--at 25 years old, he is five years younger than the third-seeded Federer.

All the information you need to know about when and where to watch the final match is below.

Television Coverage: ESPN beginning at 9 a.m. ET

Streaming Coverage: Watch online via Wimbledon or WatchESPN

Wimbledon 2012: Serena Williams Wins 5th Wimbledon Title In Three Sets

Serena Williams won her fifth Wimbledon Championship, defeating Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska in three sets, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2.

Williams dominated the first set, winning the first five games before Radwanska held serve to make it 5-1. Williams quickly answered back to take the opening set 6-1 in just 36 minutes.

There was a short rain delay between the first and second set, and that time gave Radwanska the time needed to regroup. Even with the extra time, Williams raced ahead to a 4-2 lead in the second set, but Radwanska held serve and broke Serena to take a 5-4 lead. Both players held serve for the next two games before Radwanska again broke Williams to take the second set 7-5 and force a third set.

Both players held serve in the first four games of the third set, but Williams broke Radwanska at 3-2, and that seemed to crush the Pole's confidence. Williams won the next three games to win the match and the championship.

With her victory, Williams became the first woman to win in her 30s at Wimbledon since Martina Navratilova won the 1990 championship at age 33.

2012 Wimbledon Live TV Schedule, Streaming Coverage Information And More

Saturday brings us Day 12 of the 2012 Wimbledon Tennis Championships, and with it Serena Williams takes her shot at winning a fifth Wimbledon title. Television and online streaming coverage information is below.

Sixth seeded Williams will face No. 3 seed Agnieszka Radwanska for the Championship. The odds are in her favor; she's look dominant in the tournament thus far, serving up 85 aces and winning 66 of the 72 games in which she was serving. In addition to that, Radwanska has revealed that she is unwell, suffering from an upper respiratory illness. Put those two things together, and it looks likely that Williams will join her sister Venus as a five time Wimbledon champion.

Whatever the outcome of that match, Williams will also see action in the Ladies' doubles draw. She is teaming with her sister, and they have reached the finals against Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka. A complete Wimbledon scoreboard is available at SI.com.

Wimbledon 2012: Roger Federer Reaches Final After Defeating Novak Djokovic In 4 Sets

Roger Federer is heading back to the finals of Wimbledon after defeating top-seeded Novak Djokovic in the first gentlemen's semifinal of the day, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

The players split the first two sets, but Federer looked like the better player from the start and it showed in a big way as the match wore on. Federer controlled the pace of the match, moving Djokovic around the court and forcing the Serbian into uncomfortable positions. While Federer had only a slight 31-28 advantage in winners, Djokovic's 21 unforced errors compared to Federer's 10 was the big difference in the match.

Federer will take on the winner of the second semifinal between fourth-seeded Andy Murray of Great Britian and fifth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in Sunday's final.

Wimbledon 2012 Scores And Results: Serena Williams Wins In Straight Sets, Advances To Finals

Serena Williams is headed for a familiar destination. The America tennis player won her semifinal match against Victoria Azarenka on Thursday to advance to the Wimbledon finals for the seventh time in her career.

Ranked sixth, Williams, the last American standing in either the women's or men's singles, was an underdog to Azarenka, who at No. 2 became the presumptive favorite after Maria Sharapova was eliminated from play. Williams beat her opponent in straight sets, needing a tiebreak for the second set, to end the match 6-3,7-6. Williams hit a record-breaking 24th ace on the tiebreak to seal the win.

Williams will face No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland in the finals. Radwanska cruised past No. 8 Angelique Kerber in straight sets in the other semifinal match.

The last time Williams appeared in the Wimbledon finals was 2010. She won that year as well as the year before, two of her four tournament wins at Wimbledon.

2012 Wimbledon: Agnieszka Radwanska Advances To Finals

One half of the women's finals at Wimbledon is set. Third-ranked Agnieszka Radwanska beat No. 8 Angelique Kerber in the first women's semifinal match on Thursday to advance to the finals where she will face the winner of the match between Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka.

Radwanska never dominated while winning the match in straight sets, but she was in control throughout both. She converted 78 percent of her first serves and committed just six unforced errors on her way to a 6-3, 6-4 win.

This was Radwanska's first semifinal appearance at a major tournament in her career, something that might surprise many based on her ranking. Whoever she ends up playing against in the finals will be a difficult match.

Wimbledon 2012 Scores And Results: Maria Sharapova Upset By Sabine Lisicki

Top-seeded Maria Sharapova was upset in straight sets Monday at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships by 15th-seeded Sabine Lisicki, 6-4, 6-3.

Because of the loss, Sharapova is assured to lose her No. 1 world ranking.

Lisicki is no stranger to Wimbledon upsets, as Monday was the third time in her career she knocked off the French Open champion at Wimbledon. She also defeated Li Na in last year's second round and Svetlana Kuznetsova in the 2009 quarterfinals.

With a big serve, Lisicki's game is tailor-made to succeed at Wimbledon. She had six aces and 18 winners Monday against Sharapova.

In other action Monday, Serena Williams beat wild card Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan in three sets and Roger Federer advanced past Xavier Malisse of Belgium in four.

Just 16 players remain on the men's and women's draws, respectively, as the 2012 Championships at Wimbledon enter fourth round action Monday. Heavy hitters remain on both brackets, as No. 1 seeds Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova continue their runs to the finals. No. 3 Roger Federer is also in play, taking on Xavier Malisse of Belgium.

Wimbledon 2012 Scores And Results: Andy Roddick Out, Mardy Fish Advances

Andy Roddick looked early on as though Saturday might just be his day. As it turns out, that wasn't the case.

Roddick fell in the 2012 Wimbledon third round against Spain's David Ferrer. The 30th ranked American couldn't compete over the course of the match against a dominating Ferrer.

Roddick fell in four sets after looking masterful in the first. He won the first set 6-2 with a memorizing display of tennis before losing his Midas touch. The seventh-seeded Ferrer took care of business to move into the quarterfinals, finally knocking off Roddick 2-6, 7-6 (10-8), 6-4, 6-3.

In another match, Mardy Fish helped to carry the American men into the second week, taking care of business against German-born David Goffin in straight sets. Goffin did provide a stiff challenge though, forcing two tiebreaks with Fish before saying farewell to the All England Club, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (8-6).

On the women's side of things, Serena Williams held on to defeat No. 25 Jie Zhang. In a match that was tougher than most thought, Williams had to fight tooth-and-nail against Zhang before winning in three sets, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 9-7.

2012 Wimbledon Live TV Schedule, Online Streaming And More

The 2012 Wimbledon Tennis Championships continue on Saturday with no shortage of action for Day 6. Full television coverage and online streaming information is below.

No. 4 seed Andy Murray is in action, facing Marcos Baghdatis. Murray stands to benefit the most from Rafael Nadal's stunning Round 2 loss to Lukas Rosol, as he can now make the finals without facing Nadal, but looking past Baghdatis would be a mistake. The two men have faced each other six times, splitting the matches 3-3. Rosol is also playing Saturday, facing Philipp Kohlscreiber. Andy Roddick, seeded 30th, will take on No. 7 seed David Ferrer on Sunday. There are still plenty of doubts about how much Roddick has left, and he has to silence them one match at a time. In the Ladies' draw, No. 6 seed Serena Williams will face No. 25 seed Jie Zheng.

Wimbledon 2012 Scores And Results: Rafael Nadal Shocked By Lukas Rosol On Day 4

Day 4 at the 2012 Championship at Wimbledon saw the biggest upset of the tournament yet. He defeated James Ward in a thriller, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, 6-7 (10), 6-3. Roddick advanced to the third round, defeating Bjorn Phau, 6-3, 7-6, 6-3.

2012 Wimbledon: Venus Williams Falls In Opening Round For First Time In 15 Years

Venus Williams lost in the opening round at Wimbledon on Monday for the first time since 1997, falling to 79th-ranked Elena Vesnina in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.

Williams managed just one break in the match, which lasted little more than an hour. Vesnina broke Williams five times on the grass courts at Wimbledon, a tournament Williams has won five times.

The older of the Williams sisters was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder last summer and took some time away from tennis. She could not possibly be thrilled with her results on Monday, but doesn't seem like she will consider retirement in the near future.

Via the New York Times:

Pressed to say whether she planned to continue playing competitively after the Olympic Games next month, Venus Williams said: "I feel like I am a great player. I am a great player. Unfortunately, I had to deal with circumstances that people don't normally have to deal with in this sport.

"But I can't be discouraged by that, so I'm up for challenges. I have great tennis in me. I just need the opportunity. There's no way I'm just going to sit down and give up just because I have a hard time the first five or six freakin' tournaments back. You know, that's just not me."

2012 Wimbledon: Kim Clijsters Says She Is 'Too Old', Playing Her Last Wimbledon Tournament

Kim Clijsters had previously announced that The Championships at Wimbledon 2012 will be her last tournament at the All England Club. As she gears up for the tournament, she relayed her reason: age.

Clijsters said that she is simply "too old" to continue playing her style of tennis. "Too old to play the game that I want to play physically. I've put my body through enough strain and everything. I'm not going to be the type of player that's going to change the way I play or the way that I move." (via Wimbledon)

On Monday, Clijsters will meet the No. 18 seed Jelena Jankovic on court No. 1. Clijsters did not get seeded for the tournament. She is firm that her retirement will stick this time around after her 2007 retirement lasted less than two years.

Clijsters has never won a singles tournament at Wimbledon but did win the doubles tournament at Wimbledon in 2003.

Wimbledon 2012 Draw And Bracket: Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal Could Be On Another Collision Course

The 2012 Wimbledon draw has been released, and Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic might be on another collision course in the coming weeks.

Djokovic has won three of the last four majors and enters Wimbledon as the No. 1 seed and the favorite. But Nadal, the No. 2 seed, captured the French Open and remains a barrier Djokovic must climb at almost every tournament. Six-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer is also in Djokovic's side of the bracket.

The full men's draw can be viewed at Wimbledon.com, as can the women's draw. Maria Sharapova earned the No. 1 women's seed this week after capturing the French Open to complete her career grand slam. She will open the first round against Anastasia Radionova.

Yonkers native James Blake, currently ranked No. 90 in the world, meets Benjamin Becker in the first round as he looks to improve on last year's first-round exit.
