New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist ended his stint as a bridesmaid as the NHL's top netminder. Lundqvist won the Vezina Trophy at the 2012 NHL Awards ceremony in Las Vegas on Wednesday night.
The Rangers goalie was a crucial part of his team's run to the Eastern Conference Finals this season. He finished the regular season with a 39-18 record, a 1.97 goals against average and a .930 save percentage for the Blueshirts. In 20 postseason games, Lundqvist was 10-10 with a 1.82 GAA and a .931 save percentage.
The runners up for this year's Vezina Trophy were Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne and Jonathan Quick from the Los Angeles Kings. The award is selected by a vote of all 30 NHL general managers.
