2012 U.S. Open: Tiger Woods 'Just Plodding Along'

Stay connected for news and updates

Tied for the lead at 1-under par halfway through the U.S. Open, Tiger Woods is well positioned to make a run at the 15th major title of his illustrious career. He knows the Olympic Club course will present a huge challenge the next two days.

“This tournament you just plodding along. This is a different tournament. You have to stay patient, got to stay present, and you’re just playing for a lot of pars. This is not a tournament where we have to make a bunch of birdies. Just got to just hang in there with a bunch of pars,” Woods said.

Woods will be in the final pairing today, along with co-leader Jim Furyk. David Toms is also 1-under for the tournament.

“I think I’m in a good spot,” Woods said.
