Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse fans can exhale, their team is headed to the NCAA Tournament. Behind netting the games first eight goals, the No. 18-ranked Orange routed the St. John's Red Storm, 12-4, in the inaugural Big East Conference Tournament Championship Game, which comes with an automatic-qualifying bid into the 16-team NCAA field. St. John's ends its season 8-7 overall.

Tommy Palasek tallied three goals and four assists and Bobby Eilers added 2-and-2 for Syracuse (9-7), which more than likely would have been left out of the NCAA Tournament if it didn't earn AQ berth. Orange goaltender Bobby Wardwell was stellar, as he saw seven shots and stopped four of them.

Syracuse will now need to wait for the NCAA Tournament selection show, Sunday, at 9 p.m. on ESPNU, to see who they will play in the first round, which begins next Saturday or Sunday.
