NCAA Baseball Tournament 2012 Bracket Released: St. John's, Manhattan And Stony Brook Begin Play Friday

The St. John's Red Storm, Manhattan Jaspers and Stony Brook Seawolves all start play in the 2012 NCAA Baseball Tournament on Friday.

The St. John's Red Storm, Manhattan Jaspers and Stony Brook Seawolves all start play in the 2012 NCAA Baseball Tournament on Friday. The full tournament bracket was released Monday and can be found at NCAA.com.

St. John's earned the Big East's automatic berth with a 7-3 victory over South Florida in the conference championship game. It was the Red Storm's conference-best seventh Big East tournament victory. The Red Storm were seeded third in the Chapel Hill regional hosted by North Carolina.

Manhattan won its second straight MAAC title by winning four games in three days to come out of the elimination bracket and earn an automatic NCAA tournament berth. MAAC tournament MVP Taylor Sewitt came out of the bullpen in the conference championship game, but recorded every out of the 11-inning, 3-2 win. He finished the tournament with three wins thanks to 22 scoreless innings. The Jaspers received the fourth seed in the Columbia regional hosted by defending national champion South Carolina.

Stony Brook punched its ticket to the NCAA tournament with its second America East conference championship in the past three seasons. The Seawolves open NCAA play as the fourth seed in the Coral Gables regional hosted by Miami.
