With the 30th pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers have selected Illinois wide receiver A.J. Jenkins. The pick might be considered somewhat of a reach, as Jenkins was not a consensus first-round pick.

Jenkins, who ran a 4.39 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine, didn't play very much early in his career at Illinois but emerged in his junior season to lead the team in receiving. He led the Illini in receiving again as a senior in 2011, racking up 1,276 yards on 90 receptions.

Impact on Giants:

The Giants have frequently been linked to a wide receiver in Round 1, though Georgia Tech's Stephen Hill is still on the board.
