College Basketball Rankings, March 5: Syracuse Concludes Regular Season At No. 2

The Syracuse Orange remain No. 2 in the college basketball rankings after completing a 30-1 regular season.

For the sixth consecutive week, Syracuse is No. 2 behind Kentucky in the USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Wildcats received all 31 first-place votes after completing their own 30-1 regular season, which included a perfect 16-0 run through the SEC.

After Kentucky and Syracuse, Kansas, North Carolina and Missouri round out the top five, with Duke tumbling to No. 6 after getting thrashed by North Carolina on Saturday.

Syracuse resumes play in the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden this week. The Orange earned a bye into the quarterfinals and won't play until noon on Thursday, against either UConn, West Virginia or DePaul.
